21일 건강보험심사평가원의 말을 빌리면 2015년 국내 탈모 병자 수는 27만3628명으로 2018년(50만8534명)대비 11% 상승했다. 연령별로는 30대가 23.3%로 1위를 차지했고 이어 20대(20.2%)다. 같은 기간 탈모 치료에 쓰인 총 진료비도 199억원에서 304억원으로 57% 불었다.
한 피부과 지인은 '가정용 탈모 치료기는 집안에서도 활용할 수 있게 레이저 출력량을 안전한 수준으로 낮춘 제품'이라며 '그만큼 부작용은 적지만 효과 한편 적어 탈모 방지 샴푸처럼 일부분 도움을 주는 보조 역할에 그칠 것'이라고 이야기 했다.
