We finally found a few acres of affordable rural land with gentle slopes and good drainage, just outside a small town. The soil is perfect for a garden, and the mature oaks provide plenty of shade. It’s quiet enough to hear the creek from the porch, and we’re already planning where to put the chicken coop.
